The cynicism of the PSOE government team denied last night, during the celebration of the plenary session, the obvious abandonment to which the area of ​​Youth is subject and the decline of the Caravaca Joven leisure program, without offering alternatives for young people in the urban area and districts .
The disappearance of many of the activities that were developing, the lack of attention to youth and youth associations or the reduction of hours in the Youth Center are just some of the examples of this situation.
The activities that are being developed this summer are organized by the General Directorate of Youth of the Region of Murcia or by private associations to which the City Council cedes its facilities.
The popular councilman José Santiago Villa highlighted the lack of initiatives in Youth, an area abandoned by politicians who still get ahead thanks to the work and professionalism of the technicians, and asked to resume the programming of Caravaca Joven adapting it to the needs and suggestions of Young.
To this proposal both the councilor of the branch and the mayor said that "young people do not have to give them what they want, but what they need".
The motion was finally approved with the favorable votes of the PP, PSOE and C'S and the abstention of the PSOE.
