The CAVI of Caravaca attended 25 new victims of gender violence in the first half of the year (11/07/2018)

The data on victim assistance and prevention programs have been analyzed in the Local Gender Violence Board and in the Police Coordination Table

The Center for Attention to Women Victims of Gender Violence (CAVI) in Caravaca de la Cruz paid attention during the first semester of 2018 to a total of 25 new users, coming from the different municipalities of the Northwest Region.

Likewise, during this period, 19 children of seven CAVI users were referred to the Specialized Psychological Care Service for Children Exposed to Gender Violence (Sapmex).

These data have been analyzed in the Local Coordinating Table on Gender Violence, which "meets on a biannual basis to assess the functioning of the services for victims and coordinate actions in prevention, with representatives of educational centers, health care services and technicians of the municipal departments of Education, Youth and Social Services ", as recalled by the Councilor for Social Services in the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, María José Soria.

Next, the Police Coordination Table has been summoned, of which the Civil Guard and Local Police commanders and technicians CAVI and the Commonwealth of Social Services of the Northwest are part, that together with the councilor of Security, Traffic and Emergencies, Pedro Antonio Muñoz, periodically carry out an individualized follow-up of both the victims and their abusers.

In this body also participates the head of the Coordination Unit against Violence against Women of the Delegation of the Government in the Region of Murcia, Maria Luisa Barreda.

One of the measures on information and awareness-raising presented at the Local Coordinating Table on Gender Violence was the guide 'Teach me to love', published by the General Directorate for Women and Equal Opportunities of the Autonomous Community, aimed at families of young people and adolescents with the purpose of preventing, detecting and / or acting in cases of gender violence.

This guide is complemented with training that will be given to the associations of mothers and mothers of the municipality.

It is a confirmed fact that gender violence also occurs in adolescence and that is why it is essential to provide families or legal representatives with information and guidance that will serve as tools to act in these cases or prevent them, since the Family is the first socializing agent and educator.

On the other hand, it has also been reported the creation and implementation of the Regional Center of Comprehensive Care for Victims of Sexual Assault and / or Abuse (CAVAX Murcia), whose primary objective is to avoid or reduce the situations of vulnerability and insecurity of the affected women, attending to their emotional state, valuing the risk they face, respecting their times, guaranteeing and respecting their informed decision and ensuring their psychological attention, legal advice, reception, education and support.
