The PP asks to avoid the closure of the Museum of Miniatures Angel Reinón and look for viable alternatives to its future (17/07/2018)

The popular spokesman, who has considered "sad and regrettable the disappearance of any cultural space," stressed "the limited willingness of the team headed by Pepe Moreno to seek solutions along with the rest of political forces to this drastic measure"

The PP has asked to avoid the announced closure of the Ethnographic Museum of Miniatures Ángel Reinón and look for viable alternatives to its future in a motion presented for discussion at a future plenary session of the City of Caravaca.

"In recent days the news has circulated in Caravaca that the City Council intends to close this museum space in September The councilors of the Popular Group have learned through the street, since neither from the government team, The Department of Tourism or City Hall has been officially informed to the opposition groups this decision, "said the popular spokesman, José Francisco García.

The popular spokesman, who has considered "sad and regrettable the disappearance of any cultural space, in this case a museum," stressed "the lack of will of the government team headed by Pepe Moreno to seek solutions together with the rest of political forces to This drastic measure, even more so when this museum integrates a local network of museum spaces for which we must look for a viable future and nothing is done about it ".

The Ethnographic Museum of Miniatures Ángel Reinón, opened in 2003, gathers more than 400 pieces of great precision, made in iron and wood, that reproduce in miniature useful and tools of professions already lost, many related to the rural world and with a lesser society technological than the current one.

The work was developed by Ángel Reinón Sánchez, who was born in Caravaca in 1924, and who dedicated himself to blacksmith work

The museum was born fruit of the generosity of Reinón, who gave the collection to the town of Caravaca, and of his family, who acquired the Bajo de Calle Puentecilla where the museum is located, for which the City Council requested European funds for rural development.

The creation and commissioning of this museum was not, as it is exposed, burdensome for the municipal coffers.

Nor has the family ever asked for any benefits or benefits, as it has recently explained to the local society.
