The Conservatory of Caravaca commemorates Santa Cecilia with a series of concerts, master classes and conferences (13/11/2018)

The Professional Conservatory of Music 'Leandro Martínez Romero', in collaboration with the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, has scheduled various activities, open to the public, on the occasion of the celebration of the feast of Santa Cecilia, patron of music.

The program of events is held from Sunday, November 18, to Thursday, 22.

The councilors of Culture and Education in the Caravaqueño Consistory, Oscar Martínez and Ana Luisa Marcos, respectively -who participated in the presentation of the musical and didactic acts- wanted to thank the teachers and students for the effort to prepare this program and take to the street activities of quality, with which the excellent educational work that takes place in the Municipal School of Music and the Conservatory is visible.

"It is a varied program, which includes concerts, lectures and master classes, and also diverse in their location, since they take music to different spaces such as the House of Culture, the Church of the Carmelite Fathers, the Aula de la Cajamurcia Foundation and the parish of Santa Bárbara de Archivel ", according to the Councilor for Culture, who added that the Santa Cecilia program is completed with the concert that the Caravaca Musical Group will offer this Saturday, November 17, at 7:00 p.m. at the Thuillier theater.

The director of the Conservatory, Raúl Bartomeu - accompanied by the Head of Department of Chamber Music and Groups, Erick Tinoco, and the professor of Musical Initiation, Miriam Sánchez - explained the intention has been to take a step more with the activities of Santa Cecilia, This course includes a greater variety and quantity of activities and counts not only with students but also with professional chamber music training.

The director of the conservatory highlighted the interest of the caravaqueño conservatory for promoting chamber music, currently contacting a total of 18 formations.

"We think that it is a fundamental part of the student's learning process, both in the proper curricular sense, with solitary and overall training, as well as in the social aspect," said Bartomeu.

Programming:

The activities begin this Sunday, November 18, with the concert of the Trio Nissen, chamber music training of violin, cello and piano with extensive experience, which will perform at 7:00 pm, in the Cajamurcia Foundation Classroom.

The concert scheduled for Monday, 19, at 8:00 p.m., in the church of the Carmelite Fathers, is framed in an exchange with pupils and children of barbed string and plucked string of the Conservatory of Music.

The conference 'Music, painting, music education and brain', given by Professor Octavio de Juan Ayala, will take place on Tuesday, November 20, at 5:00 pm, at the House of Culture 'Emilio Sáez'.

This same day, at 8:00 pm, students of the Conservatory will perform at the Carmelite Fathers Church and on Wednesday, November 21, they will perform at the parish of Santa Bárbara de Archivel.

On Thursday, November 22, at 7:00 p.m., in the auditorium of the Conservatory, there will be an activity entitled "Live Music", within the project that encourages the inclusion of people with disabilities in education musical, counting on the involvement of users of the Association of Families of Persons with Intellectual Disability of the Northwest (APCOM).

The closure of the festival of activities of Santa Cecilia will come from the hand of the wooden wind quintet 'Zitrum Ensemble', which will act on Thursday, November 22, at 20.00, in the church of the Carmelite Fathers.
