The City of Caravaca de la Cruz, through its Youth Council, and in collaboration with the secondary schools of the municipality, has launched a new edition of the 'Affective-Sexual Education Program for Adolescents'.
This educational action joins other workshops promoted by the municipal area of ​​Youth that are taught throughout the academic year, among which are those aimed at training and job search (E-informed), the prevention of consumption of alcohol ('Not one more drop') or to the proper and responsible use of social networks.
Affective-sexual education workshops for adolescents have been initiated at the IES 'Ginés Pérez Chirinos', aimed at ESO's 3rd graders (14-15 years old), and will continue at the centers that have adhered to this program.
The program consists of three sessions per course, which are specified in advance with the heads of the Guidance Departments and are taught by psychologists and sexologists with extensive experience in the subject.
From the Youth Council emphasize that these workshops pursue several objectives, such as deepening the concept of sexuality and address the myths that surround this concept;
the prevention of diseases and avoiding homophobic behaviors, generating an environment of trust and respect, in which adolescents express their opinions and ask questions positively.
