Caravaca de la Cruz has hosted the fourth day of training on the Service of Orientation and Mortgage Mediation and Housing of the Region of Murcia (SOMH), aimed at municipal technicians and professionals from the municipalities of the Northwest and Mula River
The Mayor, José Moreno Medina, and the General Director of Territorial Planning, Architecture and Housing of the Autonomous Community, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, were in charge of opening this meeting organized with the aim of improving knowledge of this free service and bring it closer to the different municipalities.
In this regard, the mayor of Caravaca stressed that "it is important that all Social Services technicians, both municipalities and mancomunidades, have a thorough knowledge of the tools that are available to act immediately and thus be able to advise and accompany families that are affected by eviction cases. "
For his part, the general director of Planning, Architecture and Housing has stressed that the fundamental role of the SOMH is to mediate and negotiate with creditor entities and landlords, and recalled that families at risk of eviction can qualify for assistance up to 400 euros a month to finance one hundred percent of the rent of a home.
The SOMH service offers free advice to find out-of-court solutions and resolve the situation with negotiated alternatives between the financial institution and the people affected.
