The church of San José of the old convent of the Carmelite Mothers, located on the main street, houses the Bethlehem Municipal Caravaca de la Cruz, consisting of more than 200 pieces, including figures with movement, polychrome and Hebrew style of the renowned craftsman murciano Jesús Griñán and numerous constructions made by hand by the artist Isabel Tornero.
The assembly of the Bethlehem of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz has been run by municipal workers Herminio Montiel, Víctor Joaquín Vidal and Amancio Fernández, to whom Mayor, José Moreno, wanted to thank the dedication and affection they put to present every Christmas a more spectacular staging.
The Department of Celebrations of the City of Caravaca proceeded to the inauguration and blessing of the Bethlehem Municipal last Friday, during an act that was enlivened with Christmas compositions performed by students and teachers of the Professional Conservatory of Music 'Leandro Martinez Romero'.
Next, we proceeded to turn on ornamental lighting installed in the commercial streets and more representative spaces of the municipality.
The Bethlehem Caravaca Town Hall can be visited until January 5, from 11.00 to 14.00 and from 18.00 to 21.00 hours (closed on 24, 25, December 31 and January 1).
