For the fourth year, the Christmas tree made of recycled materials has been installed in the Plaza San Juan de la Cruz.
The City of Caravaca de la Cruz and the concessionary company of the municipal cleaning service, Urban Environment, have counted on this with the collaboration of all schools in the urban area and the districts, which have collected more than 1,500 plastic bottles and have made the decorations using also reused elements.
The mayor, José Moreno -who was in the lighting of the tree, accompanied by the councilors responsible for the areas of Environment, Education and Public Services- stressed that with this initiative, in addition to decorating the square on these Christmas dates, a message to the public so that we are increasingly aware of the selective collection of waste and recycling, to achieve an environmentally sustainable and healthy world.
For its part, the responsible for Quality and Environment in 'Urban Environment', Rocío Belchí, said that "this tree has already become a symbol of Christmas in Caravaca that shows the commitment of everyone to the Environment."
