The councilman of Culture and Heritage in the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, Oscar Martinez, and the municipal archivist, Francisco Fernandez, have received the historical document of the 'Confirmation of privileges to the town by the Catholic Monarchs', dating from 1492, that in recent months has been completely restored in the laboratory of the General Archive of the Region of Murcia.
The recovery of this document, which belongs to and remains in the Municipal Archive of Caravaca de la Cruz, has been made through the project 'We restore the role of our history', with which the Ministry of Tourism and Culture makes available to the municipalities the resources of the General Archive to restore documentary heritage.
In 2018 there have been six municipalities in the region that have participated in it, providing documents that had suffered damage or considerable deterioration over time, such as plans, chapter records, files and contracts, from the fifteenth to the twentieth centuries , highlighting this privilege of the Catholic Kings of the Caravaqueño Consistory.
The event was attended by representatives of the municipalities of Águilas, Alhama de Murcia, Caravaca de la Cruz, Jumilla, Lorca and Totana, who received the documents from the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Miriam Guardiola.
