'Populated and depopulated', 'Visitors Santiaguistas' and 'Fuentes and springs' are some of the proposed themes
For the sixth year, the Department of Tourism of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz offers the program of guided itineraries through the countryside, the districts and the caravaqueña orchard.
In this edition new contents are introduced and the routes extend to neighboring municipalities, with a common past, of the Northwest Region, the Sierra de Segura and the Comarca de los Vélez.
"The places we invite you to discover -with the help of guides, expert collaborators and locals- have a history and a heritage to discover, they keep traditions, customs and monumental elements sometimes exclusive of the place and even of the Region", just as has pointed the mayor, Gloria Gomez.
The program consists of a total of 6 routes, full-time, which will be held on Sundays from March to October, including food based on traditional cuisine.
The first one will be on Sunday March 17 and will go through the Arrabal de La Encarnación, Las Peñas, Gamboa, Jorquera Tower, Río Quípar and the hermitage of San Sebastián de Caravaca.
The coordinator of this program of visits and director of the museums of Caravaca de la Cruz, Indalecio Pozo, has commented some of the main attractions of this edition and the motivation that has led to expand the routes to other territories outside the municipality of Caravaca .
"In the case of Campo de Vélez Blanco, there are plenty of reasons for its inclusion in the program because it is an adjoining term and, therefore, with a direct relationship with our municipality and especially with the parties of La Junquera, El Moral, El Moralejo and The Royos ".
Indalecio Pozo has also pointed out that "as for the villages of Nerpio and Letur, located on the margins of the Sierra de Segura - in addition to other considerations of a geographical, ethnographic, economic and cultural nature - we are united by an extraordinary common past and it is the belonging to the Order of Santiago for centuries, a historical circumstance that has left a deep imprint in the history and architecture of these lands ".
This sixth edition is composed of the following thematic itineraries: 'Caravaca urban area and town' (March 17), 'The santiaguistas visitors: A common heritage I' (April 14), 'The Caravaca and Vélez Blanco fields: between populated and depopulated '(May 12),' Los Calvarios' (June 16), 'The visitors santiaguistas: A common heritage II' (September 15) and 'Sources and springs' (October 20).
Registration for each of the visits will always be made from the Monday before the realization of the visit itself, that is, for the scheduled for Sunday March 17, registration will be made from Monday, March 11.
The inscriptions are formalized at the Tourist Office of Caravaca de la Cruz (Tel 968702424) at the price of 12 euros, an amount that goes entirely for traditional food.
The displacement is assumed by the Department of Tourism.
