The 8th Guitar Festival 'Ciudad de Caravaca' is celebrated from March 25 to 29 with master classes and free concerts (13/03/2019)

From Monday 25 to Friday 29 March, the 8th edition of the Guitar Festival 'Ciudad de Caravaca' is held, organized by the Professional Conservatory of Music 'Leandro Martínez Romero' and the Caravaca de la Cruz City Council.

The councilors of Culture and Education, Óscar Martínez and Ana Luisa Marcos, respectively, called for public participation in all the programmed activities and highlighted the great quality and trajectory of the guitar teachers who will be present at this edition.

In the presentation of the festival also participated the coordinator of the same, Erick Tinoco, and the director of the caravaqueño conservatory, Raúl Bartomeu.

The activities programmed within the framework of this festival include, among others: a yoga course for musicians, guitar master classes and five concerts, in which both students and general public can learn and enjoy the enormous artistic and pedagogical level of figures very outstanding of the field of the Spanish guitar.

The first of the concerts will be carried out by the 'Pulso y Púa Group:' Luis Nogueras' and will take place on Monday, March 25.

On Tuesday, March 26, the recital will be starring Ramón Emilio Sánchez Soriano and María Bastida Abril, former students of the Leandro Martínez Romero Conservatory, who are now studying higher education with a promising career and on Wednesday, March 27, the fusion fusion will be the sound protagonist with José Antonio Aarnoutse (guitar), Jesús Gea Marcos (double bass) and R. Enrique González Sáez (percussion).

These first three concerts of the Guitar Festival will be held at 8:00 pm, in the church of the Carmelite Fathers.

On Thursday, March 28, the stage moves to the Plenary Hall of the City Council with the recital that, from 8:00 p.m., Cecilio Perera will offer, present in all the editions of this festival.

The Mexican Cecilio Perera has been consecrated as one of the most important guitarists in recent years within the genre of classical guitar.

Among the numerous recognitions that he has obtained throughout his successful career highlights the first prize of the 'XII International Guitar Competition of Havana, Cuba 2004', one of the most important competitions in the world.

At the closing of the 8th Guitar Festival 'Ciudad de Caravaca', scheduled for Friday, March 29 at 8:00 pm, Cecilio Perera will also participate, this time performing the 'Concierto de Aranjuez', by Joaquín Rodrígo, and accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatory.

This concert will have a row zero to benefit the NGO 'Gifts of Love'.

The master classes will be directed by the guitarists Fernando Espí, Cecilio Perera and Marco Smaili and the Yoga for Musicians course will be given by Elvira Montiel.

These activities will be held in the auditorium of the Conservatory from Tuesday, March 26, at 4:00 p.m.

All are free and open to the public.

The Conservatory has this course with 31 teachers, 758 students and a very wide educational offer with more than 20 different instrumental specialties, in addition to the Dance, Musical Initiation and Suzuki Violin Method.

From the center, instrumental practice is encouraged in groups, not only through large groups, orchestras or bands, but especially through the subject of Chamber Music, which this year has 18 different formations.
