The mayor and the president of the Murcian Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation have signed the collaboration agreement that allows continuing the execution of works in public spaces and favoring the socio-labor reintegration of the 18 users, granted by the City Council
The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Francisco García, and the president of the Murcian Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation (ISOL), Luis Pelegrín, have signed a collaboration agreement that will allow continuity to the municipal psychosocial rehabilitation program, with which they carry out improvement actions in public spaces and the rehabilitation and social reintegration of people with mental illness and / or drug addiction problems is favored.
"With this agreement we managed to retake the scholarships that the City Council had been granting the users of the program, which carry out an important work, which reverts for the benefit of all the neighbors," said the mayor, who recalled that "this program was launched pioneer in Caravaca eleven years ago and has already been exported to other municipalities in the Region. "
After signing the agreement, José Francisco García and the Councilors for Works, José Antonio Sánchez, and Urbanismo, Mónica Sánchez, have visited the school 'La Santa Cruz', where part of the 18 users of the program are working, together with their Monitors Santos Melero, Fernando Martínez and Javier Fernández.
Taking advantage of the period of school vacations, the psychosocial rehabilitation program is carrying out its pre-work practices in schools in the municipality, following the needs indicated by the Department of Education.
Specifically, to date they have carried out painting renovation work in classrooms, corridors and other units in centers such as San Francisco and El Salvador, Cervantes, La Santa Cruz or Ascruz.
The psychosocial rehabilitation program of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz is supervised and supported by the Murcia Health Service, which provides an annual grant of 60,000 euros.
For its part, the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz allocates 30,000 euros from the municipal budget for scholarships received by users.
Within the framework of this program two types of differentiated actions are carried out: the pre-work workshop for the acquisition and / or recovery of basic habits according to planned intervention strategies of each user and the practices, a training action aimed at strengthening work habits .
The program is supervised by the Northwest Area Mental Health Center.
The objective is to provide individualized itineraries and personal accompaniment to each beneficiary who wishes to initiate a process of improvement of their personal and professional situation, aiming to favor social and labor insertion;
the reduction of relapse rates and the level of disability, as well as the improvement in the quality of life of participants and their families.
