The 'Camino de la Cruz-Punta Este Trophy' Regatta gathers 500 sailors from Murcia and Valencia in its fourth edition (09/09/2019)

The Camino de la Cruz Foundation and Estrella Levante sponsor the competition, which has completed the participation quota with more than 80 vessels

The IV Regatta 'Camino de la Cruz Trophy Punta Este' will bring together 500 sailors and 80 vessels from the Region of Murcia and the Valencian Community on September 14 and 15.

During the presentation of the event, which was attended by the mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Francisco García, the organization highlighted the success of participation, completing the maximum number of boats.

"The event has been consolidated in just four editions as a reference date for lovers of this sport, which is a good promotion for our municipality as a pilgrimage destination," said the mayor of Caracas, who also wanted to highlight the solidarity aspect of the regatta, allocating part of the inscriptions to PREDIF-Region of Murcia, of the State Representative Platform of People with Physical Disabilities.

The IV Regatta 'Camino de la Cruz Trophy Punta de Este 2019' is sponsored by the Camino de la Cruz and Estrella Levante Foundation.

It also has the collaboration of Marina de las Salinas, Villa de San Pedro Yacht Club, Campoamor Yacht Club, Torre Horadada Yacht Club, Cabo Palos Yacht Club, as well as the support of the Sailing Federation of the Region of Murcia and the Federation of Candle of the Valencian Community.

In the official presentation, held in La Manga, in addition to the mayor of Caravaca, participated the general director of Estrella de Levante, Pedro Marín, accompanied by its director of Communication, Yayo Delgado;

the director of the Regatta, Pedro Reyes, and the president of the Predif Physical Disability Association, Dolores Valverde, among other personalities and presidents of yacht clubs.

All, in their respective interventions, highlighted the consolidation of the regatta between the shipowners of the Region of Murcia and the Valencian Community, thus reflecting the number of ships registered one week after the event was held.

In sports, both at the exit from the RCN Torrevieja and at the RCR in Cartagena, arriving in Cabo de Palos, the planned fleet is very good, perhaps the best.

From Torrevieja, the current ORC 3 World champion in the Corinthian class (non-professionals), the Alicante Tanit IV Medilevel (RCR Alicante), by Mª José Vila and led by Nacho Campos, will be on the starting line.

From the waters of Cartagena will be the newly proclaimed champion of the Copa del Rey ORC 2, El Carmen Elite Sails (RCR Cartagena) of José Coello.

But they will not be the only major attractions of the Regatta 'Camino de la Cruz' but, in addition, the appointment that already counts among the 50 boats that are already registered with the best of the Valencian Community and Region of Murcia, among them Fandango 300 that comes from winning the Astoria de Torrevieja regatta, in addition to playing a good role in the Copa del Rey, Greek, Kalamandurrio, Trebol Queen, Hakuna S, Tucana, Sirius V of the Navy, Cañas II, Olimpia, Eowyn 2 o He knew Two, among others.
