The Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Pedro Rivera, said today that Caravaca de la Cruz will have the "necessary to bring the pilgrims and visitors to the town attracted the occasion of the Holy Year 2017 infrastructure," referring to the collaboration agreement signed with the local mayor, José Moreno, for the construction of bus stops.

Thus, three new sidings will be built in urban crossing of the RM-715 regional road, called Avenue Andenes passing through the town, the main artery of the commercial and social activity of Caravaca.

The halts will be located next to the emblematic monument of the PA, which "enjoys a central location for easy access for pilgrims and tourists who travel by public transport to the town and has a large, accessible and safe space for parking and output buses. "

With this central space, where part of the Jubilee programming takes place, have buses connecting intercity lines connecting Caravaca with the municipalities of Murcia, Cieza, Cehegín and Lorca.

The works, which will be implemented in three months, will consist of the demolition and earthworks, construction of retaining walls and fences, the remodeling of the pavement for its suitability as a halt and the renewal of the horizontal and vertical signage, work that will develop the Ministry of Public Works.

The works include the replacement of infrastructure and works of urban services such as street lighting, underground network of low voltage supply, sewerage and telephone services, and renewal of street furniture;

The total budget of the project is 108,349 euros, of which the regional government provides 60,000 euros and the remaining 48,349 euros, the caravaqueño consistory.

Jubilee year

This action is part of the initiatives developed by the regional government to stimulate the celebration of the Holy Year commemorated in 2017.
