The artist Alberto Márquez Ruiz, from the Alicante town of Pilar de la Horadada, won the competition of painting outdoors 'Rafael Tejeo'.
The second prize was for the painter David Escrabal alcoyano Aguado and the prize of the children's category 'ex aequo' was awarded to Elena Gutierrez Sanchez and Ana Lopez Guillen.
The City of Caravaca de la Cruz, with the collaboration of Cultural Patronage, held the first edition of this event, in order to promote the arts and novice painters professionals, amateurs and live together in a day dedicated to painting.
With the name of the contest, the Department of Culture pays tribute to caravaqueño Rafael Tejeo, court painter Elizabeth II, considered one of the great portrait painters of the first half of the nineteenth century.
The contest, free and thematic technique inspired by urban scenes and landscapes of Caravaca de la Cruz, brought together twenty artists.
The jury was composed by the Councillor for Culture, Oscar Martinez, and artists Alvaro Peña and Juan Garcia Sandoval.
The first prize in the category 'Adult' is worth 600 euros and the second prize, with 200 euros.
Child category had a single prize of 200 euros, redeemable for school supplies.
Participating in the contest works will be exhibited in the old Society of Jesus, integrating in the group exhibition of contemporary art 'Kravak'.
