The Civil Guard delivers to the Town Hall several Roman pieces for conservation in the Archaeological Museum "La Soledad" (11/11/2016)

The Civil Guard has delivered to the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz, for its deposit, custody and conservation in the Archaeological Museum 'La Soledad', several pieces of Roman time, that were in a particular property of the municipality.

Among the archeological elements seized are two attic columns, carved in calcarenite, belonging to the 'Casa Aroca' deposit, which can date from the 1st century BC, and 1st century AD.

"Because of their typologies and sizes, they are very similar to those documented in the Roman temple B of La Encarnación, which may indicate the existence in this area of a building of considerable monumentality," according to the municipal archaeologist Francisco Brotóns, who explained that, given their status as public property, these elements are recovered for their proper conservation and enjoyment of citizens.
