Caravaca de la Cruz is, along with Molina de Segura, the only City Council of the Region of Murcia that has not received subsidies from the Directorate General of Sports of the Autonomous Community to improve the sports facilities of the municipality.
The reason is not to have requested this aid in the correct term, as it appears in the Order of the Ministry of Culture and Portavocía on which Sports depends.
The councilor of the Popular Group José Santiago Villa has highlighted this fact, since last week, after the visit of the director general of Sports, Alonso Gomez, Caravaca, the City issued a press release requesting the Community Autonomous its support for the arrangement of the sports facilities of the municipality.
"The City Council has requested the support of the General Sports Directorate to undertake a comprehensive reform of the Francisco Fernández Torralba Sports Complex and the Juan Carlos I Municipal Sports Center. As regards new infrastructures, the City Council considers that the main need is Construction of a new football field 11, to serve the 1,100 athletes who practice this discipline in Caravaca, "explained José Villa, who added that" hardly the Autonomous Community will provide subsidies if the City does not fulfill its duties and does not present the Applications within the time limits set for it. "
Many other municipalities in the Region have received support for projects for the fitting out of sports facilities.
Closer cases include, for example, Cehegín, which has received more than 4,500 euros for the repair of a sports court in the village of Canara;
Moratalla, who has received a similar amount for the change of windows in the grounds of the pool in Municipal Sports or Bullas, who will fix the basketball Calderon track with these aids.
