The Federation of Deaf People of the Region of Murcia (FESORMU) provides in Caravaca de la Cruz an interpretation and guidance service in a municipal space, located at 9th Street, near the offices of the extension of the National University In Distance (UNED).
The Councilor for Social Services, Mª José Soria, has reported that an interpreter is available to people with hearing impairment in a dependency assigned by the Council of Carava, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 9.30 to 13.30.
"This service will be maintained until December 31 with these hours of public attention, thanks to a grant from the Instituto Murciano de Acción Social-IMAS, but we are working to ensure continuity during 2017, since it is important to favor the elimination Of barriers and facilitate the interrelation of this group in any area of ​​society, thus promoting their autonomy and independence, "said Soria.
For its part, within the initiatives to promote the integration of deaf people, the Council of Youth has begun for the fifth consecutive year a new course of 'Language of Signs', given by Ángel García.
