On the occasion of the feast of Santa Cecilia, Patroness of Music, the 'Aba Taano' gospel choir and ethnic song offers a concert tomorrow, Tuesday 22, at 8.30 pm, in the church of the Discalced Carmelite Fathers of Caravaca Cross.
'AbaTaano' is formed by five warm voices, five boys and girls full of humor, joy and dynamism, who play songs a capella.
A different music, an original approach, own repertoire and many tables are the characteristics of these singers who have toured most of the auditoriums in Spain.
Its components normally reside in Uganda and travel regularly to Spain. They have already acted in more than 12 countries of Europay in all the sites they have harvested the same enthusiasm.
In the coming weeks, this Ugandan choir will release its fifth album, which will appear on the titles and published so far, Sitembele, Ukuthula, Woza and a Christmas album.
They sing African gospel, tribal song, popular melodies in Luganda, Swahili, Ancore, Zulu, Lingala, Acholi etc.
'Aba Taano' originated in the NGO 'Música para Salvar Vidas', and now, with their voices, they raise funds from the orphanage from which they left.
'Music for saving lives' was created 11 years ago with the aim of saving children who had suffered numerous abuses and neglect.
In the organization's orphanage, 30 children are currently living, receiving a comprehensive education.
Music and dance play a very important role in the project.
On the one hand, the therapeutic nature of music and dance helps them to compensate for the consequences of the lack of care and attention of so many years and, on the other, is the NGO's major source of funding.
Entry to the recital will be free.
At the end of the same, a voluntary donation will be requested for the NGO 'Music for saving lives'.
