Hosteleros and producers start up Asprocomur to promote a quality tourism and gastronomic offer (17/05/2017)

The Plenary Hall of the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz hosted the presentation of the Regional Association for the Promotion of Hospitality and Gastronomy (Asprocomur), a platform that already brings together more than 30 businessmen and workers and is put in March to promote a tourism and gastronomic offer of quality.

The mayor of the city, José Moreno, transferred to the new association the support of the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz "to work together for the excellence of the sector, through the formation and promotion of the valuable gastronomic heritage with which the Comarca del Noroeste ".

The association is created with a vocation of union of the entire sector of hospitality and regional gastronomy, bringing together companies, restaurants, bars, cafes, hotels, professionals and local producers.

Among its priority objectives is the qualification of professionals through the creation of a School of Hospitality and the implementation of an internship program with a job board.

The organization of courses, workshops and thematic workshops and the launch of campaigns to promote the local products of Caravaca de la Cruz, Cehegín, Mula, Pliego, Bullas, Calasparra, Campos del Rio and Moratalla .

In this sense, the president of Asprocomur, the entrepreneur Pedro Marín, stated that 'gastronomy plays a key role in boosting and developing the tourism industry, as well as being a sector with the capacity to generate employment and wealth, contributing to the development of Other sectors and creating an image of prestige of destiny ".

The act of presentation of Asprocomur also counted on the interventions of the regional deputy Víctor Martínez-Carrasco;

The head of service of Diversification of the Rural Economy of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fernando Galán;

The director of the CaixaBank Business Area, Yolanda Solero;

UCAM Vice Chancellor of Research, María Estrella Núñez, and the director of the Degree of Gastronomy of the UCAM, Adela Abellán.
