The 'Zonas francas de emprendimiento' project supports new business models adapted to Caravaca as a tourist destination (15/06/2017)

The Municipal Center of Employment and Training of Caravaca de la Cruz hosted the presentation of the project 'Free Trade Zones', which seeks to boost economic development and local employment, identifying entrepreneurship and business opportunities linked to the municipality as a destination for Religious tourism.

The study carried out by the Institute of Promotion of the Region of Murcia, with the support of the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz, indicates 26 investment opportunities and creation of new jobs, as well as the generation of synergies between companies in the area , In areas such as religious, cultural and sports tourism, gastronomy and catering, handicrafts, organic farming, footwear and new technologies.

A study prepared by the Institute of Promotion of the Region within the project Free Zones of Entrepreneurship detects and details up to 26 sites of enterprise derived from the celebration of the Jubilee Year of Caravaca.

The report, entitled 'Business models: Caravaca Jubilar', is part of the Info Municipal Entrepreneurship initiative, which identifies business opportunities and the creation of new jobs, as well as the generation of synergies between companies in the area. In the gastronomic field, the report highlights the opportunity of this celebration to develop a thematic gastronomic offer with local products and proposes the creation along this path of innovative spaces such as 'vagonfoods', old train cars converted into restaurants and In which also materials and products of aid to the pilgrims are commercialized.

It also highlights the proposal to design a multimedia application that allows pilgrims to obtain information, both cultural and historical or practical, on the route, as well as simply obtain the digital passport of the pilgrim.
