With a coexistence of two days in the youth hostel of Puntas de Calnegre, the Youth Department of the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz closed the drug prevention program 'Healthy Travel'.
This activity also involved young people who have been part of other programs developed from the area of ​​Youth, as correspondents in the secondary schools in the municipality.
In this way, the Youth Department wanted to acknowledge the involvement of young people and thank them for the collaboration they have provided throughout the course, through an activity in which tourism and leisure activities were combined, with coexistence in the Housing among students of different educational centers.
In the last edition of the program against smoking and health education 'Healthy Travel' a total of 61 high school students participated, of which 45 successfully reached the final phase.
The young people attended workshops, talks and group dynamics on prevention of drug use and healthy habits of life.
Likewise, they were tested in which it was verified that the acquired commitment of not smoking was fulfilled.
The initiative 'Healthy journey' is coordinated by the doctor of the Northwest Regional Hospital Sandro Guachi, along with the technicians of the Department of Youth.
The name of the program responds to the way of rewarding young people, since those who reach the final stage, attending all proposed activities and abandoning tobacco or not starting in consumption for 8 months, participate in a coexistence in a youth hostel Of the Region of Murcia.
Part of the finalists of the Healthy Journey program, selected by lottery, will also participate in an international youth meeting, to be held in a European city.
