The cycle 'To the moon of Barranda' brings free concerts on Saturdays in August to the Museum of Music Jazz, bossa nova, flamenco, folk and Portuguese fado are the styles that mark this year the cycle, which begins on 5 August with 'Ficto (26/07/2017)

The rhythms of jazz, bossa nova, flamenco, folk and Portuguese fado will sound this year in the cycle of concerts 'A la luna de Barranda', held on Saturdays in August, at the Museum of Ethnic Music-White Fadol Collection.

The cycle, which will be held from 5 to 26 August, with free admission, has been presented by the Councilor for Culture and Festivities in the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz, Óscar Martínez, accompanied by the coordinator and guide of the Museum Museum Of Music, José Sánchez.

"We have a program that maintains the essence of the cycle 'A la luna de Barranda', with the characteristics of a varied music that we do not usually have the opportunity to hear in other concerts," said Óscar Martínez.

'To the moon of Barranda' will begin on Saturday, August 5 with 'Fictoria Quartet', one of the bands with more sole and trajectory of the panorama of the Murcian jazz.

In spite of their long stage tour, Esther Eu (vocals), Jesús Fernández (guitar and vocals), Andrés Santos (vocals and winds) and Sebastián Mondéjar (percussion) do not cease their efforts to be refreshing and surprising in one of Their performances.

The second of the concerts will be on August 12 and will come from the hand of Carla Pires, consecrated voice of the new fado, considered one of the best Portuguese singers of fado today.

Pires is part of the traditional fado and then add bold and innovative concepts that give your songs a contemporary touch.

Its current repertoire is based on traditional fado and original themes with modern arrangements.

With a remarkable presence on the stage, Carla Pires has an innate talent to conquer the audience from the moment she begins to sing, offering intense concerts.

On Saturday, August 19, flamenco will be the protagonist in the courtyard of the Museum of Music, with guitarist Vasco Hernández, one of the most promising talents of the new flamenco guitar.

Its composition, which combines a wide range of rhythms, melts with a melodic sense that results in a composite of clean sounds and the most characteristic aggressiveness of the flamenco guitar.

Vasco Hernández has given concerts in different European cities, among which we can highlight those celebrated during tours in Switzerland and Greece and the opening of the Flamenco Festival of Setúbal in Portugal.

The Murcia group of flolk 'Túa' will be in charge of closing the cycle of concerts 'To the moon of Barranda' Saturday 26 of August.

The formation has an ample repertoire of traditional music, touching subjects of Irish root, Galician, Asturian, Scottish and Breton, incorporating also songs of own composition.

His influences are very varied, ranging from Luar na Lubre, Milladoiro, Carlos Núñez and Berrogu¨etto to The Dubliners, The Chieftains, Solas, and Alan Stivell.

Recently the group has released their first album, 'Coordinates: North-South'.

All the concerts will be held in the courtyard of the Museum of Ethnic Music-Blanco Fadol Collection, at 10.30 pm, with free admission to complete capacity.
