Among other points of interest, the new ordinance went ahead to regulate the use of parks and gardens
The Ordinary Plenary for the month of September unanimously approved that the canapé of the Castle of Caravaca de la Cruz be called the promenade of Pedro Ballester Lorca, Adoptive Son of the City and chaplain emeritus of the Royal Basilica of the Vera Cruz, recently deceased.
The political groups emphasized his charisma and facet as historian, professor and priest during the about 50 years that he lived in Caravaca.

In the plenary session other points related to the municipal regulations of honors and distinctions were approved, such as the appointment of Juan José Avilés as the City's Adoptive Son.
A person involved in the social life of Caravaca, Avilés was born in Madrid and for more than 40 years has practiced as a forensic doctor and pediatrician in Caravaca de la Cruz, being for 14 years coordinator of the Health Center and occupying different positions in the Commission of Celebrations and in the Brotherhood of the True Cross.
The appointment of the writer Luis Leante as Favorite Son of the City was unanimously approved.
Leante has cultivated several literary genres, from the story or the novel to the screenplay through the poetry or the essay. Among the acknowledgments he has received throughout his career is the Alfaguara Prize, with the novel 'Mira si yo te querré' or the Edebé Youth Literature Prize for the work 'Flee without looking back'.
Finally, within the points related to municipal honors and distinctions, with the abstention of Izquierda Unida Ganar Caravaca and the favorable vote of the rest of political groups, the denomination of 'President Adolfo Suarez' was approved to the garden located in 'Los Molinos' .
On the other hand, in the last plenary session, the Municipal Ordinance of Parks and Gardens of Caravaca was finally approved, with the favorable votes of all councilors.
The new ordinance aims to regulate the creation, conservation, use and enjoyment of the green areas of the municipality, in order to ensure adequate conservation.
Equally, the municipal regulations include measures aimed at regulating the treatment of animal species that live in parks and the limitations for those that are introduced by people.
Other items such as the General Account for the year 2015 were discussed and approved in the plenary session;
the disaffection of the current route of the public road from Los Cipreses to Las Oícas;
the composition and regime of sessions of the Special Information Commission 'Caravaca Jubilar, El Roblecillo and UTE Caravaca' and the municipal regulations of Citizen Entities and Municipal Hospitals.
It also approved the item relating to the motion presented by the Municipal People's Group concerning the defense of the Unity of Spain.
On the other hand, the accounts of the Caravaca City Council's delinquency report for the second quarter of 2017 and the approval of the general account for the year 2015 took place.
