The Carmelite Foundation Robles Chillida presented its 'Prizes for Research', with which 30,000 euros are destined annually to projects in the field of Health Sciences, developed by the University of Murcia.
The event, preceded by a reception in the Plenary Hall of the City Council of Caravaca, was presided over by the mayor, José Moreno;
accompanied by the Director General of Vocational Training and Teachings of Special Regime, Sergio López;
the Vice Chancellor of Research of the University of Murcia, Antonio Juan García;
and the president of the Robles Chillida Foundation, Amador López, along with the rest of the members that make up the patronage of the foundation and the researchers awarded in this edition.
José Moreno highlighted the generosity and social commitment of the pharmacist Elías Manuel Robles Chillida, who donated his important patrimony to the development of initiatives that promoted the health and well-being of the citizen.
"The collaboration between the foundation and the University of Murcia has allowed research for five years to be supported as one of the main elements of development and social transformation," said the mayor.
In addition, another example of the honest commitment to society through support for intellectual work is that each year the foundation rewards Caravelan students with outstanding academic records.
The authors of the winning research projects have been Juan Antonio Madrid Pérez, for the study 'Evaluation of the biological clock and sleep in a patient with liver cirrhosis.

The Robles Chillida Foundation, the posthumous work of Elías Manuel Robles Chillida, was established in 2011. Its main objectives include the promotion of love of study and research, from the beginnings of academic life to the higher stages.
