The church of San José hosts the conference 'Santa Teresa andariega' and the concert of 'Ministriles de San Miguel'. Within the activities organized around the feast of Santa Teresa, the Guide of the Road of San Juan de la Cruz (18/10/2017)

The second Teresian Cycle of Music and Conferences, organized by the Department of Culture of the Caravaca de la Cruz City Council, in collaboration with the Discalced Carmelite Fathers, continues tomorrow, Thursday, October 19, with the presentation 'Santa Teresa de Jesús andariega' which will offer the superior of the Discalced Carmelites of the Iberian province, Miguel Márquez Calle.

The conference, like all activities that take place within this cultural cycle, will take place at 20.30 in the church of San José, the old convent of the Carmelite Mothers, with free admission to complete capacity.

The Teresian Cycle will be resumed the following day, Friday October 20, with a concert of the musical formation of medieval instruments 'Ministriles de San Miguel', which will also take place at 20.30 in the church of San José, main Street.

The second edition of the Teresian Cycle of Music and Conferences will continue on Thursday 26 October, with the participation of the deputy director of the Mystic University of Avila, Rómulo Cuartas Londoño, who will deliver the lecture 'St. Teresa of Jesus and St. John of the Cross: originality and communion in the same ideal. "The closing of the cycle will be held on Friday 27 October, with the chamber group 'La Pronuntiatio'.

Way of San Juan de la Cruz

Coinciding with the activities organized on the occasion of the feast of St. Teresa, the Guide to the Way of St. John of the Cross was presented in Santiago de la Espada, the pilgrimage route from Beas de Segura (Jaén) to Caravaca de the Cross and which St. John performed on several occasions.

The presentation was given by the prior of the Discalced Carmelites of Caravaca and was attended by the mayors of Caravaca de la Cruz, Hornos, Santiago de la Espada-Pontones, Nerpio and Moratalla, the first deputy mayor of Beas de Segura, councilors of these localities and other neighbors who collaborate in this project with which a historic pilgrimage road is revealed, which is born in the heart of the Sierra del Segura and runs through towns of Andalusia, Castilla la Mancha and Murcia.
