The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed, in Caravaca de la Cruz, the operation 'GUMUS' which has culminated, the day following the robbery, with the arrest of a young offender as alleged perpetrator of the crimes of theft, robbery with violence and intimidation, and heavy theft in vehicle interior.
Agents specialized in the prevention of citizen security began the investigation when they were alerted to a possible robbery with violence and intimidation committed against two neighbors of Caravaca de la Cruz, when they were walking late at night by a local park.
The interview with the victims meant that a young man with a South American accent had allegedly intimidated them with a firearm to take valuables, although one of the women made a phone call to the Civil Guard , which precipitated his flight.
Perpetrated robberies in less than four hours
The inquiries made for its location allowed to find out that, that same afternoon, agents of the Local Police of the municipality had identified a person of similar characteristics, presumably related to the theft of a mobile telephone to another neighbor.
In the wake of this investigation, the Benemérita was aware of the robbery committed in a vehicle parked on a street near the park where the robbery had taken place, so that the suspect could be linked to this crime.
The police devices, aimed at their location and detention, were positive when a body patrol surprised the young man who, at the time of his arrest, wore the same clothes as the previous night and in which, in addition, there were remains of crystals broken that related it with the alleged authorship of the robbery inside the vehicle.
The result of the investigation was brought to the attention of the judicial authority who ordered the entry and registration in the address of the arrested, located in Caravaca de la Cruz, where the weapon, supposedly used in the robbery, was not located.
The operation 'GUMUS' has culminated in the arrest, the day after the robbery, of a young offender who is allegedly charged with the crimes of theft, robbery with violence and intimidation, and strong robbery in vehicle interior .
The detainee, a 19-year-old Colombian citizen with a large criminal record and investigations have been made available to the Court of Instruction number 2 of Caravaca de la Cruz (Murcia).
