Some 700 students participate tomorrow in Caravaca in the meeting of the network of school choirs of the 'Cantemus' Region (21/11/2017)

From 10.30 to 11.30 hours will sing in the Plaza del Arco, the church of San José and the parish of El Salvador

Caravaca de la Cruz hosts tomorrow, Wednesday, November 22, the Meeting of the Network of School Choirs of the Region of Murcia 'Cantemus', which will participate a total of 19 educational centers for Children, Primary and Secondary, with close of 700 attendees among students and teachers.

The Directorate General of Attention to Diversity and Educational Quality of the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the City of Caravaca de la Cruz and the Brotherhood of Vera Cruz, held this meeting in Caravaca, coinciding with the celebration of Santa Cecilia, patron saint of music and poets, and with the commemoration of the 2017 Jubilee Year.

The choirs will act individually, from 10.15.

at 11.30 am, in the parish of El Salvador, the church of San José and the Plaza del Arco.

Then, at 1:00 pm, they will participate in a common song on the esplanade of the Castle of Caravaca de la Cruz.

The program 'Cantemus' emerged in 2008 as an initiative to unite in the same project the school choirs of the different educational centers of the Region.

During the 2009-2010 academic year, the network was extended to Early Childhood and Primary schools, with a total of 63 centers participating in the program, one of the largest networks of choirs nationwide.

Among the objectives of the 'Cantemus' program is encouraging choral singing at school;

favor the exchange of knowledge between educational centers and disseminate the vocal repertoire, with special interest in popular music and folklore of the Region
