More than 200 artisans, along with entertainment shows and workshops, will be part of the XIV Medieval Market of Caravaca (29/11/2017)

More than 200 artisans of all the guilds and numerous shows will be part of the XIV Medieval Market of Caravaca de la Cruz, which will be celebrated through streets of the historic center during days 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 December, coinciding with the bridge of the Constitution.

Jugglers of the court, medieval warriors, vendors of perfumes, slaves, tragaldabas twins, characters of 'Juego Tronos', the chirimías of Murcia, exhibition of instruments of torture, the death of the witches or the cart of the quacks are so only some of the animations that, together with the artisan demonstration workshops, will be able to be enjoyed in the fourteenth edition of the Medieval Market, whose programming has been presented by the Councilor for Tourism, Commerce and Handicrafts of the Caravaca de la Cruz City Council, Gloria Gómez, and the representatives of the cultural association 'Art Andante', Teresa Calvache, Lola Salcedo and Ángel Miñano.

Animation activities for children also play a leading role in the programming of the Caravaqueño Medieval Market, with medieval children's fairs, which will be located in Plaza San Juan de la Cruz, Paseo de Santa Clara and Canalica Street.

In these spaces there will be traditional attractions such as the Ferris wheel, the jumping boat or the carousel.

In this edition, the market will not have shows with animals, which will be replaced by games and didactic workshops.

Another of the outstanding acts of the program is the 'Great Medieval Tournament', which this year will include in its script characters from the medieval history of Caravaca.

Legend Specialists will recreate the fights and battles between knights on Saturday, December 9, at 5.30 pm, at the town's Bullring.

But the market will start two days before, with the inaugural parade and the opening speech, which will take place from 11.30 am on Wednesday, December 6.

The councilor Gloria Gomez has indicated that the City of Caravaca de la Cruz has provided a special traffic and security device, which is reinforced with respect to previous editions, given the coincidence with the Jubilee Year 2017 and high forecast of visitors and pilgrims.
