The City Council and the Metal Federation sign an agreement for unemployed people to access specific training in the sector (13/12/2017)

The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Moreno, and the president of the Regional Federation of Metal Businessmen of Murcia (FREMM), Alfonso Hernández, have signed an agreement that includes among its lines of action to promote the access of unemployed to specialized training in Metal, the streamlining of procedures for opening businesses and cooperation in the fight against the underground economy.

The mayor has indicated that it is about collaborating with each other so that the metal sector continues to generate employment and remains a model of economic expansion.

In this regard, he stressed that currently represents 10% of the gross domestic product of the region, with more than 8,000 companies, including SMEs, self-employed and various activities of metal, employing about 85,000 workers, representing 7% of the regional active population.

For Alfonso Hernández, president of the FREMM, the agreement is positive for the metal companies "because their activity will be benefited by the cooperation agreed against the disloyal economy, which is causing so much damage to companies".

The City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz agreed to join the Board Against the Submerged Economy, promoted and chaired by the FREMM, where the inspection and security bodies are integrated, as well as associations of consumers, administrations and other regional institutions.

Participants have a Plan of Actions against Unfair Competition to detect fraudulent actions, protect the rights of workers and promote competitiveness under equal conditions.

The federation has processed about 200 complaints, under the protection of this action.

Qualified training will also be promoted between both parties to encourage employment in the Metal sector, especially among the unemployed.

The FREMM committed itself, for its part, to enroll in its Placement Agency all the students who have taken part in its training program.

The agreement signed is included in the agreements that FREMM is closing in different municipalities to improve the development of metal activity, which results in the optimization of local economies and, therefore, regional.

Workshops, ready

In the framework of a business meeting with the SMEs and self-employed of Caravaca de la Cruz, FREMM presented its free diagnosis service to repair shops, which allows them to catch up on environmental, industrial legislation and that affects consumption.

The event also analyzed the actions that FREMM and its trade union of workshops have in place against the submerged economy in the sector, which is making it possible to detect irregular businesses that involve serious unfair competition not only for the company but for its workers and for the whole of society as long as tax obligations and Social Security are avoided.

In addition to the information addressed to the workshops, the business organization gave an account of its "FREMMRESPONDE" program to show them their services and agreements so that they can grow competitively.

The president of Metal and a team of FREMM technicians, headed by the general secretary, Andrés Sánchez, were responsible for bringing this initiative to SMEs and self-employed.

The FREMM is made up of 45 associations, guilds and groups of varied activity, grouped in the areas of metal industry, automotive, installation and finishing of work and commerce.

More shine for the Custody

As a culmination to the signing of the agreement with the City Council and the business act with SMEs and freelancers, the president of FREMM signed an agreement with the elder sister of the Royal and illustrious Brotherhood of Vera Cruz, Elisa Giménez Girón, for the cleaning of processional custody, by students of their training center.
