The jury of the contest, which brings together the best instrumentalists of all the public conservatories and authorized centers of professional and higher education of music in the country, has awarded Arturo Abellán, the prize for the best pianist and the third prize among all specialties instrumental

The Interpretation National Contest «Intercentros Melómano» is an initiative of the Orfeo Foundation created in 2002 with the aim of encouraging the active participation of students of conservatories and authorized music centers in competitions of a professional nature, in which their Work and effort are evaluated by a prestigious jury.

The Foundation has among its main commitments the support of young musicians at the beginning of their careers.

The Competition adds between its two categories more than 3,000 participants, from 80% of the Spanish conservatories, and the winners have offered more than 300 concerts as part of the awards.

After obtaining the first prize at regional level, the young pianist participated, along with the winners of the other autonomous communities, in the final phase of the contest that took place in the ADDA of the city of Alicante on December 9th.

After receiving a € 100 check from the young pianist for the purchase of school supplies, the Director of the Conservatory "Leandro Martínez Romero" of Caravaca de la Cruz, Raúl Bartomeu, has shown his gratitude and pride to both the winner and his family: "It is a lot of luck and pride, not only for the conservatory, but for the city of Caravaca and for the Region of Murcia to be able to say that we have among the walls of our conservatory one of the best pianists of all professional conservatories of the country, we have Rafa Nadal of the pianists and that is something that we must put the value and recognize.
