The Cabalgata de Reyes closes the special Christmas activities program on January 5 (02/01/2018)

The Department of Celebrations of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz concludes the special program of Christmas activities next Friday, January 5, with the celebration of the traditional procession of the Three Wise Men, whose beginning is scheduled for 6.30 pm.

The Parade will take place along the usual route, along Calle Almería, Gran Vía and Puentecilla, ending at Plaza del Arco.

This year, as a novelty, the three wise men will arrive at Caravaca de la Cruz in the same float, preceded by various musical and entertainment shows, as well as the three carriages of the pages of Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar.

Among the groups that will be part of the royal courtship is the Ana Dance Academy and the 'La Compañía' Music Group, along with cartoon and fantasy characters such as 'The Minions' or 'Alice in Wonderland', among others.

At the end of the parade, the traditional act of adoration of the Child Jesus will take place in the parish of El Salvador and, next, the Magi of the East will greet the children in the Plaza del Arco, where a stage will be installed and there will be children's entertainment activities.

In the morning, they will visit the users of the Day Stay Service of the Home for the Elderly, the Residence for the Elderly and the facilities of APCOM, and in the afternoon, the Bernal Hospital and the Regional Hospital of the Northwest.

The Department of Celebrations has scheduled during today and tomorrow, January 2 and 3, free rides in the tourist train.

The departures are made from Plaza del Arco, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

During the day of January 5 will be installed in Ciudad Jardín a fair of inflatables, from 12.00 to 14.00 and from 4 to 7 pm.

At the entrance of the City Hall, a real mailbox has been placed so that children can deposit their letters.

The Municipal Bethlehem, located in the church of San José of the former convent of the Carmelite Mothers, will remain open to the public until January 7 (except for the days 5 and 6 in the afternoon).

The opening hours are Monday to Sunday, from 11 am to 2 pm and from 6 pm to 9 pm.

The Bethlehem of Caravaca de la Cruz is made up of more than 200 polychrome figures and of Hebrew style, made by the renowned Murcian craftsman Jesús Griñán.

The composition is enriched with effects and numerous constructions by Isabel Tornero, which allows the narration of the main scenes of the Nativity.

To ensure the good development of the Cabalgata de Reyes, the Department of Security, Traffic and Emergencies of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz has provided a special traffic and citizen safety device, which will involve local police officers, supported by Civil Protection and Red Cross volunteers,

From the Department of Safety, Traffic and Emergencies remember the importance of following the rules and indications of the organization, not exceeding the bounded areas and always maintaining a safe and prudential distance with respect to the floats and shows.

In this regard, it is worth remembering that minors must always be supervised by an adult and located in safe places on sidewalks without invading the road.
