The School of Industrial Organization trains a dozen young people from the Northwest in the design of footwear and accessories (05/02/2018)

A dozen young people from the Northwest Region, beneficiaries of the National Youth Guarantee System, have received training in shoe design and accessories, within the course taught by the School of Industrial Organization of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Employment.

The Councilor for Education and Youth in the Caravaqueño Consistory, Esther Poveda, who attended the presentation of the final projects of a part of students, explained that this course has been taught for the first time in the municipality at the request of the footwear business association 'Limestone-Jute of Caravaca' and thanks to the collaboration of the City of Caravaca, which has ceded the facilities of the Municipal Employment and Training Center for its development.

The course has received a grant of 35,000 euros, from the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF).

The councilor Esther Poveda encouraged all the businessmen gathered at the close of this training program to have these young people who have worked for several months in the development of the artistic skills necessary for this professional activity, as well as in the knowledge of graphic expression and the use of cutting-edge digital tools.

"With actions like this, the association that brings together most footwear entrepreneurs, with the support of the City Council, continues to bet on improving the professional training of the sector, seeking the incorporation into the job market of people in unemployment" , said the mayor responsible for Education and Youth, who also recalled that this academic year has been launched in Caravaca de la Cruz, a pioneer in the Region of Murcia, the cycle of Vocational Training of "Technician in Footwear" and Fashion Complements ", which will allow highly qualified workers, who will provide quality, innovation and design to the product.

The closing ceremony, held at the Carrilero Museum, was also attended by the director of the School of Industrial Organization, Fernando Garrido;

the president of 'Caliza', Manuel Polo, and the general director of Vocational Training and Teachings of Special Regime, Sergio López, who verified the results of this course, through the presentation of the collections of footwear and handbags designed by the own students.

During this program of 'Footwear and accessories design', active professionals in the sector have transmitted to the student the skills and abilities that should be mastered in this area, going from the most essential aspects such as the trilogy 'last + floor + cut' or the exact nomenclature of components, parts or fabrications in footwear, to more complex tasks such as the search and interpretation of fashion trends and their application to the final product.

To do this, they have studied the most powerful tools that exist today, such as WGSN, blogs or websites of the competition, as well as the graphic expression of the product, with cutting-edge digital tools, concluding with the perfect and exhaustive technical description for a complete final exposure of the product.
