The Caballos del Vino finalize in Madrid the requirements to be the Spanish candidature to Intangible Heritage of Humanity (28/02/2018)

The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Moreno, has participated in the meeting held in the Ministry of Culture in which the document that will be presented at the end of next March in UNESCO for the celebration of the Horses has been finalized del Vino is the Spanish candidature for Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2020.

The main reason for this meeting has been to adapt the candidature of the Horses of the Wine to the new requirements approved in the UNESCO Convention of 2017, adapting the file to the new applications related to the registration form and the evaluation criteria, with The purpose of attending with the greatest guarantees of success to the evaluation phase by the aforementioned international organization.

The Caravaca de la Cruz Wine Horses proposal was able to be included in the tentative list in 2010, through the approval of the Historical Heritage Council.

At the meeting held in Madrid, it was agreed, among other matters, that by the middle of next March, officials of the Ministry of Culture will travel to Caravaca de la Cruz to present the file as it will be sent to UNESCO.
