Caravaca has a new hemodialysis center, where they receive treatment from around 50 Northwest patients (02/03/2018)

Caravaca de la Cruz has a new hemodialysis center, where more than 50 patients from the municipalities of the Northwest Region, belonging to Area IV of Health, receive treatment.

The facilities, created and managed by the company Diaverum Servicios Renales, have been inaugurated with the presence of its president in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy and Germany, César Silva, accompanied by the mayor, José Moreno, and the Minister of Health, Manuel Villegas, as well as other representatives of the health sector in the Region.

The center, which occupies an area of ​​about 1,500 square meters, has five independent rooms to treat patients with different types of viral infection, equipped with the latest technology.

Through the concession with the Murciano Health Service, patients will receive assistance from specialized personnel, specialists in nephrology, nurses with accredited training in hemodialysis and nursing assistants, in addition to non-health personnel essential for the normal functioning of the center .

More than half of the patients in the center are also provided with the usual non-hospital medication for the correct performance of the hemodialysis sessions and the necessary medication to deal with the incidences produced during the session, as well as the precise diet, in addition to the determinations of basic urgent analytics.

Patients receiving dialysis are those who suffer from chronic renal failure and, in the opinion of the Nephrology services, meet the necessary clinical criteria to be able to be treated in arranged extra-hospital dialysis centers.

Each of them receives dialysis an average of three sessions a week.

Diaverum Servicios Renales is a company of Swedish origin that is 100% dedicated to the provision of hemodialysis treatments, being the first provider of renal therapies independent of European products.
