The Civil Guard investigates three hunters for shooting a dog in Caravaca de la Cruz (10/03/2018)

The alleged perpetrators of crime related to the protection of flora, fauna and domestic animals are attributed to those investigated.

Apparently the facts could have their origin in previous discrepancies

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed the operation 'MALAMUTE', an investigation aimed at clarifying the injuries produced to a dog that was hit by several shots of a firearm, which has resulted in the identification, location and investigation of three hunters, who have been instructed diligences as alleged perpetrators of crime relating to the protection of flora, fauna and domestic animals.

The operation began last January, when the owner of a dog filed a complaint informing him that he had found his dog in the vicinity of a boarded fence near his home with a serious open wound on his snout, allegedly the effects of shooting.

The owner of the dog when he filed the complaint also provided an emergency veterinary part in which it was stated that the animal suffered an open wound in the right rostral part of the animal, with removal of dental pieces, as well as bone fracture and tissue loss. bone and soft.

The veterinary services determined that, in view of the infeasibility of the surgical reconstruction, the best thing for the animal was to sacrifice it, in order to avoid greater suffering from it.

Civil guards of the Nature Protection Service (SEPRONA) took charge of the investigation and continued with the investigations in order to clarify the facts and locate their authors.

The agents verified that the area in which the animal appears with the supposed shot is a few meters from bounded, in which there are several fixed positions of those usually used for waits or awaiting the boar.

After identifying the owner of the boarder, as well as the people who have authorization to hunt, and collect different manifestations of the facts, the Benemérita found that there were discrepancies between hunters in the area and the owner of the animal, to which they would have notified him on several occasions, the discomfort that the existence of the dog caused them.

Apparently, the animal appeared sporadically from the hunting posts, causing discomfort to the hunters who were stationed in the area.

As a result of the investigation, the SEPRONA has been able to verify that the night in which the events took place three members of the reserve were hunting in the vicinity and that same night they would have also found the realization of at least three shots.

Once all the necessary evidence has been obtained and the three suspected perpetrators of the shooting have been identified, the Civil Guard has investigated the three suspects who have been instructed to act as alleged perpetrators of the crime relating to the protection of the flora, fauna and domestic animals.
