Young people from different communities participate in the first field of work of the Northwest Greenway (13/07/2010)

The director of the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia, Veronica Lopez, and the Director General of Tourism, Marina Garcia, accompanied by the Councillor for Youth of Caravaca, María Antonia Alvarez, today visited the young participants in the labor camp environment of the Northwest Greenway.

In the first edition of this area involved 17 youths, aged between 18 and 26 years from different Spanish regions such as Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Canarias, Castilla y León, Madrid, Murcia, Basque Country and Valencia.

For fifteen days, from 10 to 24 July, the volunteers carry out activities of documentation, information and adequacy of the Northwest Greenway, restoration and maintenance of historical and public facilities.

Environmental activities will be complemented with visits to several towns in the region as Mazarrón, Murcia and Cartagena, routes through scenic natural areas, craft workshops, essences, recycled paper, food and t-shirts, parties and activities related to the Holy Year 2010 .

For the year 2010, the Summer Youth Institute Youth earmarked 419,000 euros, 47,000 euros to the Fund brings Mediterranean.

Other partners are the youth councils of the municipalities where they develop the various fields.

In addition to the labor camp of Via Verde in Caravaca de la Cruz will hold a new edition of the International Archaeology Field for the start value of the site of El Cerro de la Fuente Archivel.
