The Conference on Oral Tradition and Folk Barranda mark the beginning of the Feast of crews (27/01/2012)

The program of activities planned to mark the thirty-fourth edition of the Festival of the crews begins today, Friday, with the Days of Culture Study on Oral Tradition and Folk festival Barranda.

Cultural and festive activities will happen throughout the day on Saturday.

On Sunday, crews, pandas and rounds of different points of the Spanish territory will meet in the streets of the hamlet caravaqueña Barranda.

With the X course "Folklore and School", a recital by the director of the Museum of Ethnic Music, Carlos Blanco, and a course and tasting of wines from Bodegas Juan Gil Days begin this afternoon to Study Oral Tradition Culture .

"These days, that in recent years have been wrapping up the program of the Festival of the crews, intended as the theoretical support that the culture of oral tradition needs," as explained by the councilman of Culture in the City of Caravaca, M ª Cruz Perez .

At 22.30 hours will start on Barranda Folk concert with the group from Murcia "Malvariche" that will feature his latest album "25 years is nothing."

The festival continues Saturday with performances by "Manuel Luna and maquila Gang," featuring the album "For Parrandas" and verdiales Baños del Carmen.

For the second year, the program collects crews Festival celebration Farmers Market Traditions, which is expected to attend about 35 artisans and demonstration workshops.

On Sunday, January 29, will begin the Feast of the crews proper with the Mass sung by the Brotherhood of Blessed Souls of Caravaca, receiving the tribute bands and Alfonso Botía "The Minchel".

XXXIV In the edition of the Festival of the crews will participate Gang Aledo (Murcia), Ronda de Lucena del Cid (Castellón), Cuesta de Gos Gang (Eagles-Murcia), Gang Aguaneras (Lorca, Murcia) , Gang of Campo San Juan, El Sabinar and Calar de la Santa (Moratalla, Murcia), Gang of Los Llanos (Albacete), Palm Zarcilla Gang (Murcia), verdiales Baños del Carmen (Malaga), Gang Torreagüera (Murcia), animero Caravaca de la Cruz (Murcia), Gang Purias (Murcia), Round Motilleja (Albacete) and Aguilanderos Barranda.

Since 1979, every last Sunday of January, we celebrate the Feast of the crews.

Last year was declared National Tourist Interest and Intangible Cultural Property.
