Operators of the power company Iberdrola are proceeding in these days the withdrawal of much of the existing wiring in the High Street and the Plaza del Arco.
This action responds to a lawsuit brought from the city of Caravaca to reduce, as far as possible the visual impact of producing low-voltage power lines in certain areas of Old Town.
Work has begun on the removal of a significant portion of the wiring in the area of the old church of the Jesuits and the Palace of the Knights.
In this regard, Councillor of Works and Urban Development, Salvador Gomez, explained that in some streets of the town, as is the case in the High Street, "there is unnecessary duplication of lines, wired flying over the roofs of houses , causing long lines at angles, with the existence of metal anchors and postecillos, which also will go away. "
As far as possible, Iberdrola, with the collaboration of the Consistory caravaqueño, will withdraw the aerial cable runs in order to beautify the facades and streets of Old Town.
