The mayor of Almonte, Jose Antonio Dominguez, accompanied by the President of entrepreneurs in the municipality, Pedro Roldán, made during the day today an official visit to Caravaca de la Cruz to meet their tourism resources as a place of pilgrimage and experience in the field of religious tourism.
José Antonio Domínguez has held a meeting with the mayor of Caravaca, Domingo Aranda, and the elder brother of the Confraternity of the Vera Cruz, Pedro Pozo, as well as councilors of the Municipal Corporation and representatives of sectors linked to tourism, hospitality and business.
Recently, Pope Benedict XVI has given the Holy Year Jubilee Mariano to the village of El Rocio in Almonte (Huelva), to be held between August 15, 2012 and September 7, 2013.
Also, as happened with the 2010 Holy Year of Caravaca de la Cruz, the Government of Spain has given consideration Event of Exceptional Public Interest.
