The Department of Environment of the City of Caravaca, in collaboration with the Institute Gines Perez Chirinos, held the first edition of the "Create-Cicla" with the dual aim of promoting environmental values ​​and enhance artistic creativity.
The result of this event, the center entrance is decorated with original sculptures, ornaments, toys and costume jewelry and fashion items, all made from scrap materials.
The competition was presented twenty works, carried out individually and in groups, result winning the play "Ecopark Mobile", performed by students Samuel Marín, Alberto Navarro and Juan Muñoz.
The jury also awarded a second prize to Juan Manuel Martinez, "straws lamp" and a special mention to Fernando Vendrel by "Robot".
Winners will receive an Ipod on the 26th of June at 20.00 hours in the theater Thuillier, coinciding with the graduation of IES Chirinos.
The Institute of High Gines Perez Chirinos Caravaca de la Cruz is one of eight centers of Murcia selected for the implementation of environmental education campaign "and Ecopoint minidot" of DGs Environmental Planning and Educational Development.
"The purpose of this project is to provide young people with the tools necessary to be able to analyze the problem of generating uncontrolled waste and major environmental problems that currently affect us," he noted the mayor of the Environment, Antonia Maria Alvarez , which has advanced, following the pilot experience carried out successfully in IES Chirinos, the contest "Create-Cicla" will be other secondary schools next academic year.
