Caravaca joins the commemoration of the International Day Against Violence Against Women (19/11/2012)

It also will launch the campaign "It's up, it behooves us"

The Caravaca CAVI has attended so far this year to a total of 54 women

The City of Caravaca de la Cruz joins the commemoration of the International Day for the Prevention of Domestic Violence.

Councilwoman Women, Family and Social Development, Carmen Ruiz, accompanied by professional Care Center for Victims of Gender Violence (CAVI), has reported that on Friday December 23 will install an information stand in place of Tuzla 20.00 hours and will proceed to the reading of a manifesto in the Plenary Hall of the Consistory.

Furthermore, in order to work in the field of prevention and in collaboration with the Red Cross, will launch at the House of Culture awareness campaign "It's up, it behooves us," which aims to show the inequalities in the distribution of family responsibilities and how this hinders the reconciliation of work and family life.

Tours have been arranged with the schools in the municipality and the general public may participate from 18:00 to 20:00 from 3 to 14 December.

Rounding out the activities planned to mark the International Day for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, storytelling workshops Municipal Library, focused the theme of equality and nonviolence.

CAVI And Local Mesa Against Gender Violence

The Department of Social Development of the City of Caravaca has promoted the creation of the Local Board against Gender Violence, for all those involved in the care of victims work with maximum coordination and with the same guidelines and performance criteria.

In this body are represented managers and technicians of the departments of Social Welfare, Education, Public Safety and Health, bodies and security forces (Police and Guardia Civil), Judge of Court of 1st Instance, the social workers of the Hospital Regional and Mental Health Center and CAVI workers, among others.

Moreover, the Councillor for Social stressed that the CAVI of Caravaca de la Cruz has provided social and psychological support and legal advice to a total of 54 women.

"Although it is hard work, social worker, lawyer and psychologist CAVI continue working with the same professionalism, enthusiasm and excitement that the first day," said Ruiz Mulero, has reported that since the 2006 got underway CAVI 468 women have served in the Northwest Region.
