Press release of the PSOE Municipal Executive Committee regarding the Comprehensive Management Plan Northwest Natura 2000 (05/03/2013)

Surprisingly, in a recent press release, the PP of Caravaca relating some of the arguments presented by the PSOE Integral Management Plan North Natura 2000, concerning the extension of some protected areas, as an attack on the interests of farmers, ranchers and business associations.

This is just pure demagoguery or ignorance.

Or both, which is what we fear.

The Caravaca sites on which we asked to extend the protection given to other neighboring are known and loved by most caravaqueños.

Namely: the Peña Rubia, the Barranco del Nevazo, Vulture Peak or the Sierra de las Cabras.

Everyone who walked through these beautiful places of our town, we know that these are forest and mountain areas, non-agricultural.

Who ignores this.

Moreover Funny how the PP cop tries Caravaca as if this management plan was not with him.

It has been the Department of Environment, under the regional government of Mr. Valcárcel, PP, and whose head is the caravaqueño, and for a time a member of the government team of D.

Sunday Aranda, D.

Amador Lopez as CEO of the same, which has drafted the plan said.

Of course, with a great deal of ambiguity, contrast and lack of development that have made allegations of thousands of white arrivals from all kinds of groups.

We believe that a plan of management of natural resources of our land well prepared, with knowledge of its many variables, carried out with concern and dedication, can be a valuable tool to help the development of our region.

The current Comprehensive Management Plan Northwest Natura 2000 suffers from all that, it has a degree of improvisation, of contradiction, of ignorance and lack of foresight high.

It has taken a long time for its preparation and is lost.

We must remember that the European Union gave a timeline for the development of four years and that expired on December 31, 2007.

Now, after five years behind schedule, the European Union gives ultimatum to early 2014 so that the management plan is finalized and if not will have to return the nearly 3 million initially disbursed for this purpose, and with the added risk of losing numerous grants from the Common Agricultural Policy (remember that this premium sound environmental practices) of the municipalities benefiting Northwest.

Because of the latter, now wants to approve a plan hastily and poorly done, either way, as quickly as possible.

These rush, to which we refer, have caused as bad happens to students preparing exams the night before, keep them many things in the pipeline.

It is not understood if this is not so, the majority of privately owned protected areas, are not taken into account for these owners to prepare the plan or, at least, that they had been informed in advance.

Moreover, agricultural spaces that remain within Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) and Special Protection Areas for birds (SPAs) have a number of restrictions of environmentally protected areas.

From this the authors were aware of the plan (or should have had if they had done their homework) since 2004.

And yet, they have done nothing to alleviate the possible adverse effects that these have limitations in these land, by special grants for these areas.

For all this and other things, and because of the high number of allegations received ordered from the PSOE, which reworked the current plan with the consensus of all involved and affected, directly or indirectly, in him and through him respectively.
