Robles Chillida Foundation awards its scholarships to ten students caravaqueños (24/10/2013)

The foundation has awarded Chillida Robles caravaqueña their scholarships to ten students of the municipality with outstanding academic records.

Chillida Robles Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Caravaca de la Cruz, which has among its aims to reward students from Caravaca and help fund research projects at the University of Murcia.

It was named after Manuel Robles Chillida Elijah pharmacist who donated his estate to initiatives focusing on medicine, health and welfare of citizens.

In this first edition have been awarded high school students Francisco Javier Pérez García, Lorencio Adrián Sánchez, José Antonio Marin Garcia and Laura Maria Torres Criado, all with middle notes outstanding.

Grants were also awarded to students in grade Vocational Middle José David Pérez Martínez and Sergio Gonzalez and Jose Maria Cava Valera Royals FP higher grade.

Aid granted by the foundation between 500 and 1,000 euros per student.

In addition, for the current academic year, the foundation has allocated € 30,000 concerted research projects with the University of Murcia.

Awards "Maria Chillida Shack"

The foundation has created a special awards study aid in primary education with the name "Maria Chillida Shack".

These scholarships are aimed at students from schools located in the districts of Caravaca and are named after the mother of the testator and creator of the foundation, who served as a teacher in the hamlet of Los Royos.

The students will receive the award "Maria Chillida Hut" in its first call are: Carlini Angela Gimenez, Alicia Fernández López and María Isabel López Marín, all with a dossier average rating of excellent.

Chillida Robles Foundation was presented publicly last September by the Mayor of Caravaca, Domingo Aranda, the rector of the University of Murcia, José Antonio Cobacho, and the Director General of Educational, Maria Dolores Valcárcel.

The foundation has among its members Amador López (president), Amalia Martin (Vice President), Pedro Antonio Robles (vocal), Francisco Romero (Secretary) and José Antonio Martínez Moreno (treasurer).

As with research awards, granted during the presentation ceremony of the foundation, will be made public delivery of scholarships to selected students.
