The Youth Council of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz has developed a new version of the program against smoking "Healthy Travel", with the participation of 50 students of 4th ESO.
This initiative, according to statements by the mayor Antonia María Álvarez Jorquera, aims to drug prevention and promotion of healthy habits in the adolescent stage.
The "Healthy Travel" seeks the involvement and active participation of students and consists of a technical part, coordinated by the technicians of the Department of Youth, and a medical part, led by Dr. Sandro Guaschi.
The name of the project responds to the form of a trip to reward young people who manage the challenge of meeting the eight-month program beginning without smoking or consumption.
The 34 young people who have reached the final stage in the Healthy Camping participate in the Youth Hostel Calarreona, and also will become part of a drawing for ten places in the European Youth Meeting in Penafiel (Portugal), from 22 to July 27.
In addition to the anti-smoking program "Healthy Travel", the Youth Council of the City of Caravaca performs other actions under the Municipal Prevention Plan Drogodendencias as mediators courses for youth drug prevention and awareness annual educational awareness about the effects of alcohol consumption in children.
