The Ministry of Development, Public Works and Planning, through the Directorate General of Highways, will invest 419,774 euros in the preparation of the regional road RM-730, which connects Caravaca de la Cruz to the limit of the region.

This pathway is part of interregional route linking Valencia, Murcia and Andalusia.

The RM-730 highway is a core structure for the region of the Northwest Region and has a high intensity of traffic, especially on the stretch-sale Caravaca Cavila by passing an average of 9,870 vehicles per day, of which 10 percent are heavy vehicles, especially because of its interregional.

The design of this road will significantly improve the quality of travel for residents of Caravaca and other drivers that run in this way, communicating with neighboring populations of the regions of Andalusia and Valencia.

The Director of Roads, José Guijarro, stressed the importance of improving the road surface, for which some 7,601 trips per day, of which over 1,000 are heavy vehicles, mainly due to traffic generated by the recorded business activity of existing quarries in the area of ​​Abanilla and Fortuna.

It is envisaged strengthening of the road with hot asphalt on the stretch between mile markers 6.5, at the height of La Matanza, and 15.5 variant of Abanilla and cleaning and gutter margins replacement marking.
