The Feast of Barranda crews gathers 7 groups of the region and other 6 Ávila, Malaga and Valencia (08/01/2015)

Declared of National Tourist Interest and Cultural Interest, the Feast of Barranda crews reconvene on Sunday January 25 rounds gangs and from different points of the Spanish geography.

The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, Domingo Aranda, Minister of Education, Culture and Universities, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, and the president of the Aguilanderos Barranda, Carlos Salcedo, Murcia presented today at the XXXVII edition of the Festival of Gangs , which will involve 13 rounds and crews, including 7 of the Region of Murcia and other 6 vila, Albacete, Malaga and Valencia.

"The Feast of the crews is established as a true national leader in the field of music of oral tradition, something that is evident every last Sunday of January, when the people of Barranda becomes the meeting point for thousands of people ", as highlighted by the Mayor during the presentation.

The Feast of the crews will begin on the morning of Jan. 25 with Mass sung by the Brotherhood of Blessed Souls Patino.

Following the pattern of recent years, the Feast of the crews will be wrapped in the days before by the Conference on Culture of Oral Tradition, the "Barranda Folk" festival and Farmers Market Traditions.

The Conference on Culture of Oral Tradition will start the evening of 23 January with an exhibition of the doctoral thesis of Julio Guilln entitled 'The Brotherhood of Souls of Caravaca de la Cruz: music, revival and ethnicity in the Sierra de Segura' and photographic exhibition 'Party Time' Joaquin Zamora and Toms Garca Martnez at the Museum of Ethnic Music.

It also starts Barranda Folk starring "Stolen Notes".

On Saturday the conference will continue with the conferences of Antonio Viao, 'Orality, floclore and school';

and Gustavo Martn and 'The House of Words', who also propose afternoon 'narrate is to escape the tyranny of truth'.
