'Ministriles Marsyas' a concert Thursday at the Basilica de la Vera Cruz (10/11/2015)

The components of 'Ministriles Marsyas' also taught a master class at the Conservatory caravaqueño

The 'Ministriles Marsyas' group offers this Thursday, November 12, at 19.00, a concert of free entry into the Royal Basilica of Vera Cruz.

This activity is sponsored by the Department of Culture and the Conservatory of Music of Caravaca, in collaboration with the Brotherhood of Vera Cruz and the Tempo Giusto Music Association.

'Ministriles Marsyas' is itself a set of minstrels, which is called as the wind players in the chapels of the cathedral.

The training is specialized in the interpretation of Spanish music between the fifteenth and eighteenth centuries, using ancient wind instruments, such as the cornetto or Renaissance trumpet, sackbut, flageolet, bassoon and organ, recreating thus how were the concerts in the ancient chapels and cathedrals.

'Ministriles Marsyas' has acted in much of Europe and the Spanish geography and prestigious early music festivals such as Antwerp, Utrecht, Ghent, Perugia or Linz, both solo and in collaboration with vocal groups.

His album 'Traces of the minstrels' won the award for best album of the year in Renaissance music magazine CD Compact.

The whole GEMA finalist awards for Best Group Renaissance 2014, consists of Fernando Sanchez (bassoon and Bajoncillo), Simeon Galduf (sackbut) and Javier Artigas (organ).

Master Class at the Conservatory of Music

Prior to the concert at the Royal Basilica of the Holy Cross, the band members 'Ministriles Marsyas' involved a master class at the Conservatory of Music in Caravaca de la Cruz.

Students will learn instruments such as the bassoon and sackbuts, ancestors of bassoon and trombone instruments currently being taught at the center.

The activity will begin at 16.00 pm in the auditorium of the Conservatory, with the intervention of Professor of Organ at the Conservatory of Music of Murcia and academic of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts St. Mary of the Arrixaca, Javier Artigas, who will make a historical introduction of these instruments to then start the master classes of these instruments.

The activity, which stands for the quality of the participants and the type of instrumental training teachers, is aimed primarily at students in grades 5 and 6 of the History of Music, as well as instrumental relevant subject.
