'Refugees.
What can we do?'
It is the title of the round table to be held this Saturday, November 28 at the House of Culture Emilio Sáez.
The objectives of this activity are to raise awareness among citizens of the drama of war and exile and raise the need for actions to promote peace in the Middle East.
On the table will be the Deputy Director of Family and Social Policy of the Autonomous Community, Maria Auxiliadora Moreno;
and the councilman of Social Services in the City of Caravaca, Maria Jose Soria.
Spanish Red Cross will be represented by José Antonio González;
Platform for Aid to Refugees in Murcia by Elena Garcia, Diocesan Caritas by Maria Hernandez and Igino Guiordani Foundation Dolores Garcia.
Interventions will be moderated by Juan Fernandez, the Political Movement for Unity and Unity and Fraternity Association.
There will also be the direct testimony of people who fled their countries to escape war and were integrated into our society.
Specifically, with Claudine Uwasakindí, Rwanda, who came to Spain 20 years ago, obtained refugee status and now lives in Caravaca and has Spanish nationality.
Since 2011 Syria's population lives in the midst of a civil war.
Over the years, the conflict has become more complex and difficult to manage;
while for many it has become a hell.
In August and September 2015 thousands of Syrians and other nationals from the Middle East began to reach the borders of the European Union seeking asylum.
It emerged a critical situation without precedent in EU foreign policy and numerous social organizations expressed their willingness to manage and collaborate on the integration of refugees.
