The mayor, José Moreno, and the Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Francisco Barnabas, visited the Center for Conservation Northwest Highway, located in the industrial area of ​​St. Agnes Caravaca de la Cruz.
In this space, it has presented the device to meet the potential needs of the roads of the Northwest Region during the winter season.
In the center there are five snow plows and more than 300 tons of salt to cope with possible snow and ice storms.
On the device, set in the 'Plan of civil protection against snow and cold snaps in the Region of Murcia', involving a qualified team, acting in full coordination with emergency services and Civil Guard 112, and performs both preventive treatment with application of sodium chloride humidified to prevent the formation of ice on the road, as treatments for removing snow from the driveway.
Conservation Center Northwest Highway has three detached buildings, with 1,525 square meters of total area.
From there the maintenance of regional roads of 30 municipalities of Caravaca de la Cruz, Calasparra, Moratalla, Cehegín and Bullas is managed.
The preserved sections reach a total of 366 kilometers of roads, among which three-way first class: the RM-711, Cavila Sales Lorca;
RM-714, Jumilla to Caravaca de la Cruz;
and the RM-730, Caravaca de la Cruz to La Puebla de Don Fadrique, with a length of 89.30 kilometers,
to which we must add 75.53 kilometers of second level, third level and 199.34 1.58 cruises.
